ABERDEEN BUSINESSMAN WAS GHA SUPPORTER


Prominent Aberdeen businessman Graeme J. Wilson M.B.E. who died in  November, 2021 at the age of 90, was a generous supporter of the Grampian-Houston Sister City link and was for a time Vice Chairman of the Grampian-Houston Association.


He and his wife Kathleen, who lived in Banchory,  participated in exchange visits  arranged by the Association to Houston.


Graeme became Managing Director of the plumbing,heating and electrical supplies firm of William Wilson (Aberdeen) Ltd. in 1955  and was Chairman from1972 until 2005 when he and his brother Sandy sold the business to Wolseley UK . The firm had a network of 45 branches thoughout Scotland and the North of England with around 600 employess.


He was predeceased by his wife and is survived  by two sons Michael and David who lives in Houston with his Texan wife Monica.


Graeme is pictured showing off the Grampian-Houston tie which he had designed by Savile Row tailors in London.
