Getting to and from George Bush Airport

Visitors to Houston have several options for getting to and from George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Some hotels offer free transport by courtesy van. A taxi to Downtown costs about $48. Travellers can also book the Super Shuttle which picks up passengers at any Downtown location for a $25 fare.

The Metro Airport Direct service has been in operation since August, 2008, providing a half-hourly service from 5.30a.m. to 8.40p.m. This service to and from Terminal C has had a disappointing uptake with the 52-seat coach carrying only two passengers per trip on average. In a six-month experiment from 23 January, 2011 the fare is  reduced from $15 to $4.50 and the coach is calling at the Downtown Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Four Seasons, Doubletree and Crown Plaza hotels. Further details at www.ridemetro.org/Services/airport_direct.aspx.

Another transport option is the 102 Bush service to and from Terminal C. Operating from 4.59a.m. it makes six stops between the airport and Midtown and takes over an hour. The fare is $1.25.
